ICAS element set licensing guidelines
development of ICAS element sets requires an ICAS licensing grade per table 9045.1, unless other arrangements are approved by AAT ICAS.
grade | localization | tableset | term | format | character |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
public use | X | ||||
developer | X | ||||
localization | X | X | X | X | X |
administrative | X | X | X | X | X |
all ICAS element sets, with the exception of format sets, must be registered with AAT ICAS. there is no additional fee designated for the registration of element sets by ICAS licensees, however certain cases may require the payment of additional fees by a licensee.
licensee development of ICAS element sets must conform to an effective version of ICAS, and licensee element sets, with the exception of format sets, must be approved by AAT ICAS prior to use, unless other arrangements are made.
element set registrations should feature a comprehensive description and lexical analysis of any localized terms. the practicable use of schemes of sequence or order that may be suitable for multicultural use is suggested. element sets may be approved for localized or general use. registrations must also describe any rights or authority for use of localized terms.
registrations should reference ICAS terms of use in describing how localized terms will be used, however additional information may be required. applications for custom daygroup systems must provide sufficient description of how the systems will be used by licensees in conformance with ICAS.
registration approval of certain element sets by AAT ICAS may require the sponsorship of a government, business, religious, or educational organization to ensure suitability of license with regard to ICAS, licensee, language, and localized use.
additional tableset elements may also be represented as member elements of 'supersetICAS'; however must be able to be represented in terms of a discrete relationship to either the 'tablesetUCN' or to the 'tablesetNDN' systems. if a calendar and clock system is coherent to a clock system other than UT, then the clock system element must also be specified in a tableset element.
the development of ICAS element sets are subject to the assignment of unique element set identifiers by AAT ICAS.
