AAT ICAS 3030 ✧ aaticas namespace specifications
aaticas namespace specifications
this document describes a system of elements in the aaticas namespace specified for uses of ICAS. elements in the aaticas namespace are modeled in part on established XML standards developed by the W3 Consortium (http://www.w3c.org/) and the Dublin Core Metadata Initiative (http://www.dublincore.org) to accommodate the canonical and normative representation of uniform systems of date and time. element schemes offer flexibility for the localization of unique name identifiers for particular date and time elements.
ICAS methods for the representation of time and date formats are modeled in part on the time and date format methods described in ISO 8601 (please refer to http://www.w3.org/TR/NOTE-datetime and http://www.w3.org/TR/xmlschema-2/). ISO 8601 standards can be referenced as preferred methods for designating numerical expressions of traditional scales of date and time; however alphanumeric representations of traditional scales of date and time can also be designed in terms of ICAS format specifications. ICAS Developers are strongly encouraged to design for interchange-readiness.
the aaticas namespace is under co-review with TimeML.org for purposes of harmonizing ICAS and TimeML (Markup Language for Temporal and Event Expressions) specifications. additional review goals and objectives may be specified later.
please refer to the following documents for additional particular information about elements in the aaticas namespace:
- Basilicum-3031 ✧ aaticas global elements
- Basilicum-3032 ✧ aaticas tableset elements
- Basilicum-3033 ✧ aaticas term set elements
- Basilicum-3035 ✧ aaticas character set elements
- Basilicum-3037 ✧ aaticas format set elements
- Basilicum-3039 ✧ aaticas version elements
please note that ICAS elements may also be represented via a different namespace if the canonical form of the namespace conforms with ICAS standards. namespace elements and structures are however subject to change in subsequent versions of ICAS.
