ICAS numbering methods
this document describes AAT ICAS specifications for ICAS numbering methods. this document is subject to additional specification.
please reference ISO 8601 for information about numbering of traditional calendar scale units such as weeks.
developers and users should consider that ICAS usage can accommodate a broad range of formats for date and time-coding of documents, products, and schedules. uniform daygroup numbering may be represented as follows to two numerical places:
- uniform block daygroups may be numbered from the beginning of a calendar year or other coherent fiscal period. there are exactly 48 block daygroups in a calendar year, which may be represented in terms of year and block number: for example, 2003(bk)31. if another fiscal period is to be referenced then the fiscal period should be specifically expressed: aatideas03(bk)07.
- as monthends may be referenced by uniform month or by calendar date, ICAS users should consider alternatives to the numbering of monthends as a calendar unit.
- uniform stack daygroups may be numbered from the beginning of a calendar year or other coherent fiscal period. there are exactly 60 stack daygroups in a calendar year, which may be represented in terms of year and stack number: for example, 2003(sk)38. if another fiscal period is to be referenced then the fiscal period should be specifically expressed: aatideas03(sk)08.
- uniform track daygroups may be numbered from the beginning of a calendar year or other coherent fiscal period. there are exactly 72 track daygroups in a calendar year, which may be represented in terms of year and track number: for example, 2003(tk)45. if another fiscal period is to be referenced then the fiscal period should be specifically expressed: aatideas03(tk)09.
- as yearends may be referenced by uniform month or by calendar date, and as there is only one yearend period in a year, the numbering of yearends as a calendar unit is not specified.
